| about residuals is a faux celeb, single-credit comm that welcomes celebtiries from every field and genre, along witht the people working in and around the industry who keep the machine running. that means you can have agents, stylists, publicists, or personal assistants interacting alongside your a-to-z list (fictional) celebrities. this comm will focus on the in-character development that comes alongside the glitz, glamor, and drama of celebrity. we aim to provide gossip and blind items, comm-wide events (industry or otherwise), interviews, and other ways to tie our characters' stories together. as a whole body of work community, this means you'll claim one celebrity's full catalog of credits for your character. for instance, if you want to claim donald glover's credits, you're taking all of them including his acting roles, writing and directing, and childish gambino too. |
| expectations the usual rp etiquette applies here: no ic/ooc blurring, no hate speech, use trigger warnings when appropriate, put any adult content behind a cut, and treat your fellow community members and mods with respect. essentially: don't be a fucking asshole, this is non-negotiable. we expect everyone to do their research in ensuring proper representation and will not allow whitewashing. please use your best judgment when choosing pbs and claims, and approach the mod team with any concerns or questions to this end. the bottom line is that we as mods are here to help and want everyone to enjoy themselves and feel respected. please use common courtesy and common sense, communicate with your fellow writers, and bring any uncertainty or issues to the mod team. you have our full support. |
| applying to apply, you will need: ★ an ic journal, preferably with minimal to no missing letters and no numbers or underscores ★ an ic friends-only post and a screened ooc post, both backdated ★ a bio of at least 200 words with your claim linked somewhere visible. details can include history, personality, public perception, headlines, npcs, and/or fun facts. please also have 2-3 icons uploaded at the time of your application, lock all entries to friends only, and add the mod journal when you apply. the 5 year rule applies: your character must be within 5 years of your pb's actual age. we reserve the right to reject applications from writers we feel won't be a good fit, and will not respond to comments regarding rejections. |
| activity updates: please provide an update for your character once a month with something that requires some amount of effort, mixed media posts, narratives, or anything that's otherwise engaging and interactive for your fellow community members are welcome. for the time being, we won't be instituting any specific comment requirements but we do ask that you be active on the fp on a weekly basis and will try our best to provide you ample opportunity to do so. your flist must be up to date within 7 days. if your flist is not up to date, you'll be removed. we'll also be doing periodic activity checks, if you do not comment on a mod-requested activity check you'll be removed. removals: removals occur on the first of every month. we also run a 3 strikes rule — if your character is removed for inactivity three times, you won't be accepted back. hiatuses & extensions: real life happens. extensions run 5 days and hiatuses run 2 weeks; if you need longer, we ask that you consider leaving and returning when your schedule allows. off-site apps: discord, wire, telegram, and the like are not to be used for ic interaction. it silos characters and deadens the friends page. ooc coordination is fine, but please build connections in-game and be welcoming in pbads. |
